My own understanding in MDG

In my own understanding in the Millennium Development Goals is that they are trying to end the poverty and hunger in the world. Many of the people do not eat three times a day, have no proper clothings, and have no shelters. Most of the people specially the infants and children are malnourished, they lack nutrition because of having problems about money, specially those parents who don't have jobs. The Millennium Development Goal is looking ahead to 2015 and beyond, there is no question that we can achieve the overarching goal, we can put an end to poverty. In almost all instances, experience has demonstrated the validity of earlier agreements on the way forward, in other words, we know what to do. But it requires an unswerving, collective, long-term effort.

In my own definition, the development base on the goal sets targets for reductions in poverty, improvements in health and education and protection of the environment. Each year, the UN Secretary-General presents a report to the United Nations General Assembly on progress achieved towards implementing the Declaration, based on data on the 48 selected indicators, aggregated at global and regional levels. It also indicates that the development is trying to change the problems of each of us that's why their setting this goals.

Communication

Communication is a process by which we assign and convey meaning in an attempt to create shared understanding. This process requires a vast skills in intrapersonal and interpersonal processing, listening, observing, speaking, questioning, analyzing, and evaluating. Use of these processes is developmental and transfers to all areas of life like home, school, community, work, and beyond. It is through communication that collaboration and cooperation occur.

Moral development in children

As children develop their general thinking skills, they're expected to start to conform to the morality rules that society dictates. I remember during childhood that my parents always told me what to do, my concept of what was right and what was wrong always came from them. As I grew older I began to experience challenges regarding this system of rule, slowly my decisions no longer reflect the full wishes of my parents. This is just normal for us kids, we sometimes disobey our parents and we refer to other influences like friends, barkadas, t.v and even our idols/celebrities.

The problem for kids today, many of them spend too much time in front of the television. Television shows today have a lot of content that are not for children like topics on sex, violence and even vices. Kids and teens 8 to 18 years spend nearly 4 hours a day in front of a TV screen and almost 2 additional hours on the computer (outside of schoolwork) and playing video games. Even pediatricians recommend that kids under 2 years old not watch any TV and that those older than 2 watch no more than 1 to 2 hours a day of quality programming.

The first 2 years of life are considered a critical time for brain development. TV and other electronic media can get in the way of exploring, playing, and interacting with parents and others, which encourages learning and healthy physical and social development.

Of course, television, in moderation, can be a good thing: Kids can get help learning the alphabet on public television, they can learn about wildlife on nature shows, and parents can keep up with current events on the evening news. No doubt about it , TV can be an excellent educator and entertainer.

Personally I think that television has both good & bad sides, we should minimize watching television. We should know that what we are watching is good for us and for the kids, so they can learn something from it.
